Weekends are precious. These are the only days we get to spend quality time as one whole family. And so most of our Saturdays and Sundays we spend exploring new places we have never gone to, eat in restaurants with interesting food that excites our taste buds.
Recently, we get the chance to visit Container Turf in Aguirre Avenue, Paranaque – one of the most talked about food park in the South. We’ve heard good reviews for some of the food stalls and so we already have a list in mind when we went there. But to our surprise, most of the stalls were already closed. I wonder why cause it’s not been long enough since its opening to the public.
Anyway, here are some of the mouth-watering, must-share food we indulged on.
- King Squid from Above Seal Level
Good for 3 person, worth 350 pesos this king-size squid comes with 3 small cups of java rice. The butterfly-like cut was the main attraction of it. Presentation-wise, it’s nicely done. But taste-wise, I was expecting more. There was nothing really special to it.
2. Tempura from Paluto
Tempura has been my favorite. I’ve always wanted it crispy and hot. In fairness to Paluto, their version passed my standards. They were served newly fried, crunchy but prawns were a little smaller though. For 475 pesos (cooking fee included), we got half a kilo of tempura which we finished in just a few minutes.
3. Bubble Wraps
Ice cream, pancakes, or chocolates – any of these would surely be heaven for our little boy Nicko. Goodness gracious, we have found Bubble Wraps – waffles with ice cream and several toppings on it. It was perfect for only 155 pesos. I must admit, I enjoyed it too.
4. Lemon Juice in a Bowl from Swig and Guzzle Bar
We’re kinda excited to order from this store which serves juices and teas in a bowl. We’ve seen from the internet how cool they looked and since drinks is a must, we flagged it as a must try. Unfortunately, when we ordered only 3 types of juices were available and we ended up with getting the ordinary lemon juice. It was just same as the ordinary make-your-own juice at home.
They also serve alcoholic drinks so if you’re into social drinking, then try it when you have the chance.
So there! For the 4 of us, it was quite an experience. Food was over-all, so-so, nothing special but good to have tried. At least we satisfied our cravings and it’s the experience and the time spent with the family that we treasure the most.
Just for sharing, here are the other food that we’re supposed to try but stores were closed, so unlucky. Not sure if they will still open in the coming days.
- Buffalo Wings
- Tokyo Tempura’s Unli Tempura
- Pothead’s Pig Sisig
- Ayan’s Dark Chocolate Pizza
Aside from Container Turf, there are still so many restaurants, food places around BF that you’ll surely would wanna try. So go, visit the SOUTH!
